1. What is myDoorian?
A: myDoorian is Malaysia’s first permission-based mobile advertising service. We provide a legitimate channel for advertisers to promote their goods and services via SMS and MMS. Participants in this program (we call them ‘Publishers’) will be paid cash for every SMS/MMS ad they receive. That means we share our revenue with you, so it’s a win-win-win situation for all parties.
2. What’s the reason behind myDoorian?
A: It all started when one of our founders got tired of receiving unsolicited SMS message (also known as mobile ‘spam’) from unknown parties. He believed that he should get paid everytime he gets an SMS ad. He also found that others shared the same feelings. A few months later, myDoorian is formed and the rest is history.
3. Durian is spelled with a ‘u’, not ‘oo’. What gives?
A: Hehehe. Sorry, it seems that Durian is a popular fruit, and most domain names associated with this delicious fruit has been taken. So, we’ve decided to be a bit creative and chosen “myDoorian”, which no one has taken yet.
4. How do I register?
A: Simple, just click the “Sign Up” button and follow the instructions. It’s quite simple and the one-time registration process should take less than 10 minutes. You should be able to use the service right after that, and get your first commission immediately!
5. What are the benefits of joining myDoorian?
A: You will be getting targeted advertisements from reputable companies and the ads will be tailored to your preferences. At other times, our advertisers will offer really cool promotions, which you might be interested in. No more annoying spam messages from people you don’t know. Oh yes, did we mention that you’ll be getting cash for every ad received?
6. Will I be charged?
A: You will be charged RM1 per year for membership fees. Other than that nothing. (This RM1 is charged via SMS to your mobile number)
7. How much can I make with myDoorian?
A: It all depends on whether you are the right target market for our advertisers. They (our advertisers) will have a specific target market in mind whenever they advertise. If you fit their criteria, then you will get their ads, and therefore, more commission for you.
8. Can I be rich from myDoorian?
A: We are the first to admit that no one can be a millionaire by just being a myDoorian Publisher. (Not yet anyways.) myDoorian aims to provide attractive commissions to alleviate the burden of the rising cost of living nowadays, but it’s no reason to quit your day job yet.
9. How soon can I get my cheque?
A: We will issue you a cheque once your commission amount reaches RM50.00. Please give us 2-3 weeks to deliver your cheque to your mailing address.
10. How sure am I that I’ll get my cheque?
myDoorian is a brand of MobMedia Asia Sdn Bhd, which is a company incorporated under the Technopreneur Pre-Seed Fund Programme under the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) (www.mdec.com.my). Any negative actions will reflect badly on our investors and also the Malaysian Government, on which we owe this enterprise to. We promise to pay our publishers their due amount, as per mentioned in our Terms & Conditions.
11. Who is behind myDoorian?
A: We’d like to emphasize that myDoorian is a brand of MobMedia Asia Sdn Bhd, which is a company incorporated under the Technopreneur Pre-Seed Fund Programme under MDeC. (www.mdec.com.my). MobMedia’s founders are Syahazzly Izham Hamzah, author of Mobile Millions: Secret of the Mobile Kings, and Muhammad Nasir Habizar. Both founders are m-entrepreneurs and have a combined experience of more than 15 years in the telecommunication and media industry.
12. Can I exchange my earning for prepaid airtime?
A: We’re currently making arrangements with the telcos to make this feature possible. Do email us if you support this idea.
13. How many phone numbers can I register?
A: One person is only allowed to register one (1) mobile number. This is to make sure that the system is not abused, and our advertisers will not be cheated by unscrupulous parties.
14. How safe is my information?
A: We won’t give or sell your private information to external parties. Even our advertisers would not have access to your private information.
15. Will I get paid if I refer my friends?
A: Yes. You will receive a one-off commission payment when you refer myDoorian to your friends and they have completed their myDoorian registration. Just click on the ‘Tell A Friend’ feature once you have registered and logged-in to myDoorian.
16. How can I be paid for ads, but minimize the ads I receive?
A: You can change your preferences in your ‘My Account’ section. You can also set the number of advertisements you’d like to receive per day.
